Let’s talk about feeding the birds as close up as your bedroom or living room window!

I was just in Florida this week visiting my Aunt who has been confined to a bed for the past 3 years. All she has to do is watch her tv and look out the window. So I set her up with 3 feeders right at her window. A Hummingbird Feeder and a Suet Nuggets feeder and a Seed Cylinder Feeder. She is reporting to me now that she has so many birds at her window and she is just thrilled.

This made me think that in the bird feeding industry there are a lot of people that are elderly and may be bed ridden due to surgeries or just life in general and adding bird feeders as close as their windows would provide so much joy. Especially when it’s hummingbird season. So grab yourself a window feeder and see what you can get to come to your window.

What’s coming up?

As we ease from summer into fall I will be getting out all of my other bird feeders and setting them up. I usually feed a lot more in the fall and winter. Or should i say I usually have a lot more birds showing up for food. I also move everything closer to the house so I can watch my birds up close while sitting by the fire!

If you are considering putting in a pole system (that will hold up to 8 feeders) do so before the ground freezes because you won’t be able to get the auger in the ground once it freezes. I have 3 pole systems that i have had for years and I love them.
